Irancy "Paradis", with intense violet hues, is perfumed with berries and blackberries. Its present and melted tannins offer a beautiful power accompanied by a pleasant length. We note a beautiful balance combining roundness and firmness.
It will be enjoyed throughout a meal with appetizers, cold cuts, red meats, small game or cheese.

    • Irancy "Paradis" 2022 - Burgundy Report, Bill Nanson - "Super!"

Extra breadth to this slightly darker fruited nose - here with some oak elevage faintly visible. Broader again, extra intensity and this time with more floral complexity. That's a very lovely wine - super! (UK, March 2024)

    • Irancy "Paradis" 2021 - Burgundy Report Bill Nanson - February 2023

Oak elevage here, and it's directly visible on the, still perfumed nose. More incisive, more mineral, but of course, more oaked - even a little salinity. Perhaps from the barrel. Keep 5 years...

    • Irancy "Paradis" 2020 - Vert de Vin - 90/100

The nose is fresh and mineral with a racy, clean edge. There are notes of crushed raspberries, pulpy blackberries and, to a lesser extent, cherry blossom, combined with hints of lily and a mineral edge. The palate is also mineral with freshness, some juiciness and an acidic frame. It has roundness, some fatness and a fine spherical side on the palate. There are notes of juicy, plump cherries, violets and, more slightly, small crunchy red berries combined with hints of cherry blossom and a subtle hint of fleshy plum and liquorice stick. Good definition with an almost chocolatey, even varietal, quality on the finish. (September 2023)

    • Irancy Paradis 2018 - 92/100 - Wine Enthusiast, December 2020

"This wine opens with ripe and crunchy red cherry accompanied by a fragrant hint of conifer. The cherry
fruit is equally crunchy on the concentrated body but attains a riper, warmer feel. This is edged with freshness and a hint of tar gives the midpalate fruit a broodingly dark aspect. The wine is a picture of toned, muscular balance."

    • Irancy "Paradis" 2018 - James Suckling - USA - 89/100

A brambly, strawberry and wild-cherry nose with very fresh, light and juicy, supple style. The palate has a fresh, succulent and juicy feel with smooth, cherry-pip tang. Very fresh.

    • Irancy Paradis 2018 - 92 points - Wine Spectator May 2021

A lacy red, displaying strawberry, cherry, currant and stone flavors. Balanced and fresh, hints of flowers and spice chime in as this builds to a taut, lengthy finish. Best from 2023 through 2039. 1,400 cases made, 200 cases imported. — BS

    • Irancy "Paradis" 2018 - James Suckling - 89 points

A brambly, strawberry and wild-cherry nose with very fresh, light and juicy, supple style. The palate has a fresh, succulent and juicy feel with smooth, cherry-pip tang. Very fresh. Drink now.

    • Irancy "Paradis" 2018 - Decanter - 93/100 pts

Wine from this south-southwest facing lieu-dit shows the importance of terroir. As much as I liked Simonnet-Febvre's straight Irancy, this one is just better, although not for current drinking. Tighter and, despite no César in the blend, it's more tannic than their straight Irancy. The focus is on minerals rather than red fruit, although the fruitiness comes through. It carries the 14.5% stated alcohol effortlessly. Similar to their village bottling, this Paradis bottling has refinement along with its structure. Alluring subtle bitterness in the finish reinforces its stature. Drinking Window 2024 - 2032

    • Irancy "Paradis" 2017 - James Suckling - February 2019 - 89/100Attractive floral notes here with a wild-brambleberry edge. The palate has crisp, chalky texture and a lithe, juicy kick. Plenty of acidity! Drink now.
    • Irancy Paradis 2015 - The Buyer - February 2018Because of the vintage, Archambaud decided to omit the customary César (which he made a 100% cuvee out of) and produce a 100% Pinot Noir instead - free run juice with no pressing.

This decision plus the warmth of the vintage means this is a soft, elegant Irancy that would make a perfect by-the-glass wine.
